Sadie Frost
Yesterday saw the premiere of Ben Charles Edwards' The Town That Boars Me, P.S. was not in attendance as was djing at a prior engagement; so I sent along Disorder Magazine's film critic Sandra Morris accompanied by a repsonsible adult (and collaborator of Ben Charles Edwards) Melissa Lee, well an adult anyway. So what was the skinny on Edwards debut?
BB Update! At the Beach Blanket Babylon party for 'The Town That Boars Me' I saw recent evictee Nicole from Big Brother pottering about in a snazzy shimmering blue bingo dress, looking mystified as to why she was invited in the first place, but at least she wasn't a camera whore like all the desperate clingers-on that filled the bar. Prince of Pointless Natt Weller had his usual entourage of mute Asian droogs - blah. That bloke off 'The Salon' made a comment about my height, attempting to be witty but just coming across as condescending (I'm only 17!) Overheard: A drunk slurring at Sadie Frost "You were amazing on the trapeze". I didn't even get to see much of 'The Town That Boars Me' (not a film about Ipswich, contrary to popular rumour) because Jodie Harsh's barnet was in the way. As for the film itself: so-so. If it weren't for the celeb cameos it would have been just another student film. The musical element was grating, the sound mixing and lip-synching all over the shop. Here's hoping the film, and the gaggle of sleb-obsessed oompa-loompas that all claim to have been a part of it, doesn't mark the start of a Warhol/Factory revival/rip-off, London-style.
